Stockholm installs first self-emptying litter bins
Overflowing litter bins on squares and in parks are not particularly unusual sights at this time of year. The rubbish around litter bins is a problem, and it can attract both rats and birds. The problem is that consuming increases more and more because of pre-packaged food. Street and park cleaning staff quite simply lack the time to empty all litter bins when they are full.
Wales: Municipal waste recycling up from 29 to 37 percent
The latest quarterly statistics on municipal waste produced by the Welsh Assembly Government have been released according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority. This release covers provisional quarterly results from the WasteDataFlow system for January-March 2010.
